About Me

I am an "empty-nester" Mom and Presbyterian pastor. I've spent over thirty years "working" in the Church - teaching, preaching, visiting, and listening - to the people around me and to God. I've seen many changes in the Church in my lifetime, and hope to see many more. Not because God changes, but because our understanding of God always should. It should grow deeper and richer and more life-embracing. That's life the way God intended it to be!

My experience of Church has included Baptist and Presbyterian congregations in North Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, and now South Carolina. My ministerial roles have included educator, children's minister, associate pastor, and now pastor. My formal education came at UNC-Chapel Hill, Duke, and Drew Universities. (Once, when I told someone I had degrees from both Chapel Hill and Duke, a preschooler looked at me with a very serious countenance and said "Are you allowed to do that?")

My life education has come as my husband Phillip and I raised our now grown children: Rachel, Jeff, and Benjamin. And in October 2013, we became first time grandparents to Delaney Caroline - otherwise known as Laney. Watch this space for updates as she grows!
